

Born in Waterbury on December 8, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Ernest “Dick” and Ruth (Seymour) Monroe. She graduated from Wolcott High School in 1976. She worked as a paraprofessional educator most recently at Hatton School in Southington.
She had a love for animals and provided a home for many stray pets. For the last three years she volunteered for “Pawtoberfest”, a benefit for the Wolcott Dog Pound. She also loved gardening. She was a kind soul and will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her.
Besides her husband John of 39 years, Patty is survived by a son Christopher Holcomb of Aurora, CO, two sisters Marilyn Monroe of Wolcott Barbara Commerford of Canaan, a brother William Monroe of Winsted, two sisters-in-law Jean Monroe and Laurie Monroe both of Wolcott and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers Gary, Richard, Gene and John Monroe.
