
He was born June 29, 1925 in Waterbury, son of the late Patrick and Anna (Cass) Ryder. He had graduated from UConn School of Engineering with a B. A. in Electrical
Engineering. Mr. Ryder had retired from N.E. Utilities where he had worked for 41 years. He was a registered Professional Engineer in CT, a member of the IEEE and a former chairman. He was an essential member of the committee which prepared the 1984 & 1985 Edition of the National Electrical Code. He had been a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and was an avid golfer.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Sharon Russo and her husband Leonard of Kensington, and their daughter Jill Falasco and her husband Ted of Cromwell, and their children Ally and Megan Falasco, Elaine Ryder of North Haven, Joseph P. Ryder and his wife Lisa of Queeche, VT, and their sons, Burke and Collin Ryder, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his faithful 4 legged companion Sadie. He was predeceased by a brother William Ryder.
The Funeral will be held Tuesday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. for a mass. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
