Southington - Pearl Grabowski Trzcinski died July 14, 2009 after a short illness. She was the wife for 66 years of the late Joseph Trzcinski. She lived a life full of spreading sunshine and good will. Born, January 26, 1920 in Natrona Pennsylvania, she spent her childhood and early adulthood in Stamford, CT. In 1955 she moved to a home she and her husband Joseph Trzcinski designed and built "in the country" on top of the mountain overlooking Candlewood Lake and Squantz Pond in New Fairfield, CT. In later years she spent time in Florida, Arizona, Bristol, CT and finally as a very active member of the Orchards Assistant Living Community in Southington, CT.
She spent her time at the Orchards staying well connected to family and friends especially enjoying time with her grandchildren in Bristol, CT; Erika and Ethan Leslie and Justin and Amber Tacchi. She was delighted to be present to welcome her newest great granddaughter, Avonlea Scarlett Tacchi in April.
Additionally, at the Orchards she was a member of the Sunshine Welcoming Committee (a perfect match), Knitting Club to make blankets for newborn babies (a passion), reading to students at local elementary schools, going on all the trips and lunches at area restaurants, ceramics, painting, and more times than not, winning at Bingo. Other recent favorite events included getting a passport for the first time at age 88 and traveling out of the country last August to Aruba for her grand-niece's wedding on the beach and attending the wedding of another grand-niece overlooking the ocean in Hull, MA last September.
Pearl is survived by 3 children; Kenneth Trzcinski of Colorado, Philip Trzcinski of Virginia, and Barbara Tacchi, of Bristol, CT; 2 sisters Leona Radesky and Dorothy Faski of Stamford, and a brother Edward Grabowski of Sandy Hook, CT; 10 grandchildren; Todd, Tiffany, Tyler, Sterling, Philip Jr., Jennifer, Nicholas, Barnett, Erika, and Justin; 6 great grandchildren; Brandon, Danny, Corey, Yanna, Stephanie, and Avonlea. She was predeceased by a brother Walter and a grandson Troy.
When asked if she had anything she wanted to tell anyone in her last days, she stated strongly, "tell everyone to behave, I love you all, and be good to each other." Feeling "life was always good to her," always upbeat in spite of numerous trials and tribulations in her life, she remained steadfast in her personal motto-you always did what was right, thought of the other person first, and saw the best in everyone. Most of all, it is said by many friends and family that "she taught them everything they know on how to love."
The Funeral will be held Monday 9:45 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington for a Mass at 10:30 a.m.. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may come to celebrate her life during calling hours that will be Sunday from 2-6 pm.
