Peter J. Savoia

In addition to his loving wife Donna, he leaves behind his nephew Kolton Magnan, of Newington, CT, with whom he cherished a very special relationship and his mother Beth Johnston; nephew Brett Stanley of San Diego, CA; niece Britney Stegbauer of Seminole, FL; great nieces Kylie and Mackenzie Stegbauer of Seminole, FL; sister-in-law Gail Stanley and her husband Bob of Seminole, Fl; brother-in-law Roy Magnan of Southington, CT; and sister, Deborah Savoia of Pittston, PA. He was predeceased by his parents Grace (Colarruso) Savoia and Peter Savoia of Pittston, PA.

Pete also leaves behind his devoted feline companion, Cali, whom he adored. He was always a wonderful "daddy" to all his "girls".

Pete was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania and was a proud Penn State graduate, where he earned a degree in Computer Science. After graduation, Pete moved to Connecticut where he worked for 25 years at Aetna as a Computer Programmer, met and fell in love with his wife, Donna. He enjoyed lasting friendships with other "Penn Staters" and many coworkers with whom he still maintained very close relationships. Pete retired from Aetna in 1997, but continued his career over the next 20+ years at The Life and Annuity Group, Lincoln Financial and TransAmerica. Pete loved being a programmer. Although Pete was very humble, he was an amazing problem solver and felt a sense of accomplishment when he was able to find solutions to problems when others could not. He always kept his mind challenged.

Pete was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his Philadelphia Eagles and Boston Celtics. Basketball was his passion and he played every chance he could. He especially loved the time playing basketball with his nephew Kolton.

Pete's passing is a profound loss for his loving family and many friends. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.

Services will be held on July 22, 2023, 11am, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 33 Queen St., Southington, CT., followed by a Celebration of Life.
