

SOUTHINGTON- Philip C. Wache, 75, of Southington, CT., passed away on Saturday, July 18th, 2015, after a lengthy but courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving and devoted husband of Rachel L. (Ruzzi) Wache for 56 years.
Phil was born on March 4th, 1940 in Catskill, N.Y., the son of William and Elsie (Green) Wache. Upon graduation in 1958 from Catskill High School in Catskill, N.Y., he joined the U.S. Navy in September of 1958. He served honorably for four years, serving aboard the USS Vigil based out of Rhode Island.
In 1959 Phil married his high school sweetheart and together they raised three beloved and amazing children. William P. Wache and his wife Linda Smith of Scarborough, Maine; Michael C. Wache and his wife Connie (Brede) Wache of Portland, CT; and Sherri Wache Palumbo and her husband Brett Palumbo of Southington, CT.
In addition, he is survived by his precious and cherished grandchildren, Lauren Wache of Scarborough, Maine; Nicholas Augelli of Middletown, CT; Adam Augelli of Southington, CT; and Paige and Megan Wache of Portland, CT.
Phil worked as an electrician and Electrical Project Manager his entire career. He was employed by both Reno Electric in Meriden and EES in Southington.
He had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodworking his entire life.
Phil was very active for many years with several Veterans’ organizations. He was a three term Past Commander of American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 in Southington where he was honored as a Life Member for his service and dedication.
In addition, Phil was also a Life Member of the following organizations: Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans, and AMVETS.
Private services were held with full military honors on July 22nd, 2015. Della Vecchia Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
