

Randy Blake Cochran, 71, of Oakville CT passed away on February 19th, leaving behind a life defined by hard work, steady faith, and deep commitment to his family and friends. Randy was born in St Stevens, Canada on February 5, 1955, the son of Rose (McElroy) Cochran of Plantsville and the late Harold Cochran. He resided in Calais, ME until he moved to Connecticut when he was 10 years old. Randy was a man of faith and service. He spent many years as a Sunday school teacher and deacon at Bethel Baptist Church in Prospect, CT. He was always willing to lend a hand to others whenever needed, a trait that earned him the moniker “Handy Randy” from those around him. Randy worked for decades in manufacturing, earning a reputation as a skilled and reliable master machinist. He was most recently employed at Tier One LLC in Newtown, CT, where his precision and work ethic were well respected when he retired in 2022 after 32 years of service. Outside of work, Randy enjoyed the outdoors and the teams he rooted for. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics fan. He loved camping, softball, fishing, and hunting - pastimes that brought him a sense of peace and enjoyment.
In addition to his mother Randy is survived by his five sons Daniel Cochran and Randy Cochran of Oakville, Ryan Cochran of Cheshire, Sean Cochran and his wife Candice of Villa Rica, GA, and James Cochran of Oakville. He also leaves seven grandchildren Ryan, Reilly, Trent, Sean, Layne, Callum, Eyela; his former wife, Noreen Brady of Oakville; his siblings Sherry Barnes of Meriden, Norman Cochran of Lancing, TN, Karen Valentine of Plantsville, Stephen Cochran of Plantsville, and David Cochran of Southington. He was predeceased by his brother Harold B. Cochran.
A funeral home service will be held on Friday, February 27th at 11:00 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be prior to the service on Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM
