Richard “Richie” Arend, 51, of Plainville CT, died July 3, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was born October 25, 1965 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Edmund and Olga (Slysarczyk) Arend, and was predeceased by half brothers, Jan Arend and Walter Jaworski. Rich is survived by his daughter Nicole Arend, brother Henry Arend, sister Kristine Perugini and brother in law Francis Perugini, nephews Michael LaPointe, Henry Arend Jr., Brandon Arend and niece Crystal LaPointe. He also leaves behind his beloved great niece and nephew, Madison LaPointe and Gavin LaPointe, his god father Stefan Ozga and his best friend and hunting pal, his dog Coddie.
Rich was a gentle, kind, free spirited man that enjoyed his hobbies of hunting deer and wild turkeys, riding motorcycles and driving his Corvette around town. Rich enjoyed spending time with his family and living a simple life. He worked for many years at Anchor Fasteners, IGC, Ultimate Nutrition and lastly as an Operations Mechanic at Something Sweet Bakery in New Haven.
Richie will be dearly missed by family and friends and his kind, generous spirit will live on forever in our hearts. Services will be private for immediate family.
