Can't believe Ricky's passing. He always had a smile for everyone. Was a good friend.
I will miss him as I am sure so will a lot of others who knew him. R.I.P. Rick.

To the Casella Family,

Words cannot express the shock in finding out Rich had passed.  I was fortunate enough to be a member if the 105th Training Troop with him.  His smile, his sense of humor and his laugh got us through the rough parts and will always be fondly remembered.

I am so sorry for your loss, but be proud for the man he was, the trooper he was, the friend you could always count on and a great father.

Rich was a great man, a trusted friend, and always a joy to be around. He served the State of Connecticut with pride, dignity and honor, and he will always be owed a great debt of gratitude by those he served to protect. It is with tremendous sadness that we are forced to say goodbye, and my heart is broken by the grief I know is shared by his family and friends. I am proud to have known him, and on behalf of the entire General Assembly of the state of Connecticut we offer our deepest condolences to all the family he leaves behind. Ricky, I am still so shocked and say why did this happen to such a great guy.  I work into work looking for your infectious smile and good morning work will never ever be the same.   As I hold back tears walking into the KOFC and walking out. I am so glad we spend the time together we did.  I miss you so much.  I love you your TAZ.

Gone Way too soon!  I still cannot believe that you are gone!  I still look for you when I go out on break, hoping to see you with your crazy stare and contagious smile.  Work will never be the same without you here.  My most sincere heartfelt condolences go out to your family. As I hold back my tears, I will always remember you telling me to pick up the pace and suck it up buttercup! :) I will never forget you my friend! Rest in Peace.

I knew Rich for a short time, but we always shared a laugh and joke about motorcycles in the mornings as I came into work - we would always dare each other to ride into work on the cold mornings, and I recall my interactions with you as being genuine and passionate. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, rest in peace.

Even though I only knew you for a short time, you made such a big impact!! Always a big, warm, infectious smile and a "Good Morning" to go along with it! Coming into work in the morning was that much better because of your warm greetings....and walking into work will never be the same. Your kindness will never be forgotten - always making sure I had my sunglasses and/or umbrella & laughing when I'd forget both. I'll never forget your warm smile and infectious laugh. My prayers go out to your family. Rest in Peace.

Some people leave such an impression on our hearts, and we are never the same for it. In this way, we are lucky, even as we mourn such a sad loss. Rest in Peace Sunshine! You are greatly missed my friend.

Rich,  You welcomed us everyday with a smile and a laugh.  Hard to find good people like you.  We know there will never be an "automatic" door, but you gave me an option that was just as good.  I walk through that little side door and think of you every day. Missing your smile and praying for your family.

Exactly one week ago as I left work on a Friday I wished him a nice weekend.  He responded "you too Al".  He knew everyone's names.  Everyone liked him.  We are all sad.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to all of Rich's family. He worked with us for the last few months and was a ray of sunshine when we walked in the door, always smiling, happy and joking around. He will be missed. Prayers to all who knew him.

Whether it was telling me that he was the most handsome person in Rick Torvinen's wedding, or that I needed to alter my workouts since I was now OLD, Rich never failed to put a smile on my face and my wife's. We would constantly run into him at the gym or around town and that smirk would be followed up by some funny sarcasm and then that huge laugh. An absolutely wonderful guy that you could not be around without smiling. I am certain he is already bringing plenty of smiles to heaven. May you rest in peace Rich.

Max, I always called your Dad Officer Lovey.  I knew him before your mom and he were married.  When I worked at Penney’s.  They were a beautiful couple, sometimes in life things don’t go the way we want it to.  I could tell you this there was not one person in this world that they could of loved more than you. It took me a few days to believe the news. My heart is broken for your son and family. It is clear you touched everyone you knew in such a positive light. Many days I would not have made it through high school without your motivational talks (mostly you laughing until I couldn’t be upset anymore). You took care of so many of us and I could never repay you for so many things you helped me with. Your smile lit up the entire CRHS school. The world will be a little brighter with you shining down on us. Rest In Peace and my condolences to all that knew and loved you.

Wow, is all I can say, I am in complete and total utter shock about this news of Rich.  Had his whole life in front of him yet after a very successful tenure in law enforcement.  I am truly saddened, may he Rest In Peace and my deepest condolences to Rich’s closest friends and family.

To the Casella family I am very sorry to hear of Rich,s passing. We had great times in Elementary School, High School and beyond. Rich had a hearty laugh and a funny, clever sarcasm like no other. He will truly be missed.

I worked with Rich in the Security Department at the Knights of Columbus, and although it was only a short time I knew him, he has left a big smile on my heart.

Missing his hearty laughs and chit chats throughout the day.  He was a great asset to our Security team and will be missed by us all.
