

He was born in Waterbury on March 23, 1935, the son of the late Carleton and Ann (Flammia) Harder.
For over 40 years, Dick worked as a machinist for Anaconda Brass. He also was President of Wolcott Little League for over 20 years and was Director of Wolcott Parks and Recreation. Dick was an avid gardener and woodworker. He loved animals especially his dogs, Sox, Snoopy, and Odie.
Dick is survived by his daughter Carol Leary and husband William of Wolcott, 3 sons, Richard Harder Jr. and wife Clarita of Ballwin, MO, William Harder of Wolcott and Daniel Harder of Woodstock, 8 grandchildren, Sarah ,Jacob, Caleb, Joanne, Caroline Harder, William, Christa and Adam Leary. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a son Thomas Harder.
All Services are private and at the convenience of the family. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott is assisting the family with arrangements.
