
Mr. Plourde was born on June 30, 1920 in Maine, son of the late Theophile and Louise (Michaud) Plourde. He served in the US Marine Corps. during WWII was a member of the American Legion in Southington. For over 30 years he owned Plourde Construction Co. in Southington. He enjoyed trips to Eagle Lake, ME where he would go hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife of over 65 years, he is survived by a son Richard Plourde Jr., a daughter Deirdre and her husband Robert Hillen all of Southington, a brother Dean Plourde of Terryville, seven grandchildren Cheri Westbrook, Margaret Jones, Michelle Calvanese, Todd Plourde, Karyn Hillen, Kathryn Tokarski, Joseph Hillen, and four great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four brothers and 2 sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial with military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Southington is in charge of the arrangements.
