Richard P. Vallo, 82, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Analee (Steele) Vallo.
Born on September 8, 1944 in Berlin, New Hampshire, Richard was the son of the late Paul and Margaret (Kurisko) Vallo.
Richard was a longtime pharmacist who took great pride in serving his community. He and Analee owned and operated South Meriden Pharmacy for 20 years. His career was marked by his dedication to his patients and the relationships he built throughout the years.
An avid reader, Richard particularly enjoyed science fiction and historical novels. He and Analee shared a love of travel and treasured the opportunity to explore the world with family and friends. Beginning when they were just 24 years old, they embarked on more than 60 cruises throughout the United States and Europe, creating countless memories along the way.
In addition to his beloved wife, Analee, Richard leaves his three children, Susan V. Ericson of Ashland, MA and John C. Benson of Reading, MA; Matthew R. Vallo of Guilford; and William J. Vallo and his wife, Katharine, of Tolland; and his four cherished grandchildren, Kiana, Lila, Asher, and Shaylah. He also leaves his brother, Edward Vallo, and his wife, Marta, of Dripping Springs, TX.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Belleview Avenue, Southington. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
