Robert Britton

J. Robert (Bob) Britton, 92, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2022 at his home in Hendersonville, NC. Robert was born in Mt. Kisco, New York on June 5, 1930 to the late J. Robert Britton and Jeanette (Clark) Britton. He graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, PA.

He started his career in the explosives business working for Danbury Explosives, Inc. Brookfield, CT and retired from The Austin Powder Co.

While residing in Southington he was a member of Saint Thomas Church, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, former Exalted Ruler BPOE #1669 and former Chairman of the Southington Town Council.

Bob is survived by his former wife Carole and their children, Robert (Nadine) of Southington, William (Jennifer) of Candia, NH, Carole (John Heagle) of Glastonbury, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sons, Stephen and Jeffrey in 2017; his wife Norma Lee Britton; sisters, Katherine Trimmer, Jeanette Flynn, Roberta Hart and Cynthia Booth.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
