
Born in Plantsville on Nov. 1, 1921 the son of the late William C. and Erma (Camp) Bushnell. He was raised in Plantsville and graduated from Lewis High School in 1940 and received a A.S. degree from Laurel Business School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was decorated with the Purple Heart. He was employed by Riverside Dairy and retired from the Guida-Sebeirt Dairy in 1987. Mr. Bushnell was a member of the Pattaconk Yacht Club in Chester and a member of the American Legion, Kiltonic Post #72.
He is survived by a daughter Brenda and her husband Raymond Baran of Plantsville and a son Robert C. Bushnell Jr. of Madison, 4 grandchildren, Robert C. Bushnell III, Lisa Esbaner, Kim Baran and Robin Gardner, 9 great grandchildren, and 12 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Brian Bushnell, a brother Charles Bushnell and a sister Shirley Kritz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 99 Church St. Plantsville. Calling hours will be on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, Burial will be at Quinnipiac Cemetery with military honors.
