Born in Williamsport, Pa., on July 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Lyle R. and Maxine (Scouten) Estes. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and resided in Naugatuck most of his life.
Robert leaves a daughter, Jennifer Hansel of New Braunfells, Texas; three brothers, James Estes of Cheshire, Frank Estes of Lady Lake, Fla., Richard Estes of Evening Shade, Ariz.; two sisters, Nancy Letalien of Bristol, Ann Graveline of Wolcott; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
