He was born on April 19, 1937 in New Haven, the son of the late John and Mary Consilgio Nagy. Prior to his retirement, Robert was a hair stylist and owned and operated The Hair Corner in Hartford for many years. He was an avid antique collector and had a keen eye for many different types of fine art and collectibles. Robert loved animals and had many cocker spaniels including his beloved “Velvet”. Most recently, he lost his furry pet “Tosca”. He always enjoyed a good opera and traveling and most important to Robert was his family and friends.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved partner Joe, his siblings and spouses, John (Pauline) Nagy, Marylou (Thomas) Vallone, Josephine (Joseph) Nista, and Anne (Louis) Grimaldi.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 24th from 10-11 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, followed by a service at 11 AM at the funeral home.
