

Rudolph L. Ravasio, 98 of Plantsville section of Southington passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022 at Apple Rehab in Plainville.
He was born on April 17, 1924, in Cromwell, the son of the late Louis and Angelina (Maule) Ravasio. He served with the US Navy in WWII as a machinists mate 1st class. After the war he worked for Napier Co. as a jewelry designer, which led him to establish his own business The Rugin Company where he designed and manufactured promotional jewelry for companies throughout the US. After developing an interest in painting in his early 70’s, he enrolled at the school of Art and design in Wethersfield where he developed his personal style of watercolor. Embarking on a new career as an artist, he exhibited at shows and art galleries throughout New England and won numerous awards.
Rudolph is survived by his son Randall and wife Marjorie Ravasio of Riverton, WY and his 2 daughters Roxanne and husband Tony Frisina of Southington and Kathyanne Doyle and husband Michael Brown of Chino Valley AZ, 5 grandchildren Rachel Blanco, Melissa Doar, Duane Barnett, Kerryanne Downer and Nathan Barnett as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother David Ravasio and 2 sisters Norma Wood and Doris Ravasio.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Wanda with Keep Me Home and all his kind neighbors who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 13th from 11am-12:30pm with a Memorial Service at 1 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
