Sandra Jean Bissonette, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at Bristol Hospital. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on July 29, 1942, to the late Lionel Bissonette and Helen (Morris) Bissonette-Toomey.
Sandra was a graduate of Conard High School and went on to work in various positions throughout her life, always finding ways to serve and connect with the public. She will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and deep love of animals—especially cats. A devoted animal lover, Sandra regularly supported the ASPCA and cared deeply about the well-being of animals.
Sandra was also a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Luke Parish in Southington, where her faith was an important part of her life.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Geltz and husband Arthur, half-sister Patti Toomey-Flores; half-brother, Donald Toomajian; nephews Mac Seymour and Brett Mathews, nieces Charlene Flores and Coreen Seymour, and many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her half-sister, Donna Lee Toomey-Morgan, and niece, Cristy Seymour
A memorial service celebrating Sandra's life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced on Sandra's tribute page.
