She was born on August 17, 1954, in Biddeford, Maine, the daughter of Muriel (Pellerin) Vereneau of Southington and the late Gerard Vereneau.
Susan dedicated many years of her life as a medical assistant at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where she was known for her compassion, professionalism, and gentle care for her patients. After her retirement, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was visiting Disney with them—her favorite ride was Soarin’, which captured her sense of wonder and love of adventure.
She also treasured quiet moments at home, especially tending to the backyard garden with her mother, where the two shared many hours of laughter, conversation, and peace. Susan deeply valued time with her family and loved having long chats and laughs with her sister and nieces—moments filled with warmth, humor, and love.
In addition to her mother, Susan is survived by her daughter, Kristie Addy and her husband, Kyle, of Westbrook; her two cherished grandchildren, Alexandria Addy and her partner, Dana Arnold Jr., and Hunter Addy; three brothers, Michael Vereneau and his wife, Flora, of Meriden, Mark Vereneau and his wife, Normita, of Jacksonville, FL, and Greg Vereneau and his wife, Laurie, of Newington; and her sister, Lynne Verrilli and her husband, Jeff, of Southington. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lisa Vereneau.
Susan will be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
