Michele was a devoted wife to Phil for 48 years. They fell in love and were married within 6 months and had many fun and exciting adventures over the years including two decades of summers camping with the kids, spring breaks in Florida, and vacationing in various spots throughout Europe in their later years. They moved to Myrtle Beach in 2016 to get away from the Connecticut snow. Michele loved trying new restaurants through the area, always gravitating towards Thai restaurants and ordering her favorite eggplant dishes.
They had two children, Brie (Paul) Mathews and Phillip Jr. They also had two grandchildren, Nina and Noah, who Michele doted on. They were planning on moving back to CT next month so they could spend more time with their grandkids, watching them on the soccer and lacrosse fields and in school plays.
In addition to being an accountant by day, Michele was always doing something crafty at night. She loved cross stitch, quilting, painting and more. She was always willing and excited to try something new and put her whole heart into it. Her crafting kept her busy in her retirement.
Michele was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Marilyn (Edsall) Patterson and brother Jeffrey. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as brothers-in-law Paul and Peter, and sister-in-law Vennie and JoAnne and other extended family. Throughout the last few years, family she never knew existed entered into her life and she embraced them with a warm hug and a friendly smile and loved getting to know them.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Monday, April 15th at 11am at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy La., Meriden followed by a celebration of life at her daughter’s house. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choice.
