

Southington- Theresa Femia Tedesco, 91, wife of the late Carmen J. Tedesco, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009. Born in Meriden, on July 7, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John J. Femia and Carmela (Barbuto) Femia. Theresa had resided in Southington for many years where she was employed at the former Southington Savings and Loan. Previous to that she had a career as a hairdresser in Southington and Bristol.
Theresa is survived by her loving family that was the center of her life, her daughters, Judith Mitchell of Portland, CT and Susan Perrone and husband Brian of Southington. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Tamara Carella and husband Richard of Portland and Brooke Perrone of Boston, MA, also, her grandsons, David Mitchell and his wife Danielle of Tolland, CT, Brian Perrone of Manchester, CT and Brett Perrone of Southington. She also leaves five great grandchildren, Caroline and Mitchell Carella and Kassandra, Joshua, and Nathalie Mitchell.
As the oldest of nine children, Theresa is survived by her brothers Robert and Joseph Femia, and her sisters Ann Brannigan and Dolores Schmidt of Meriden. Sisters-in-law Jean, Emma, and Josephine Femia, and brother-in-law Joseph Longo. She was predeceased by her brothers Domenic and Anthony Femia and her sisters Catherine Longo and Mary Rossi. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life. She was the last aunt of the Tedesco family-who was as dear to her as her own siblings.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St .Southington to St. Thomas Church 99 Bristol St. at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
The family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care and love that was provided by her Connecticut Baptist Home Family (Meriden) where donations may be made in her memory.
