

We are sad to announce that our beloved brother Tony James Quirion has passed unexpectedly yet peacefully on August 8, 2018. Born in Charlottesville, VA on June 21, 1973 to Arlene Georgianna (Ayotte) Smith of Connecticut and the late Jean Yves Quirion of Canada, Tony would spend his formative years in South Florida before graduating from Lewis Mills High School in Burlington, CT. He was employed by the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch as a Juvenile Detention Transportation Officer since 2005. He coached youth football, most recently at Newington High School in CT.
He leaves behind siblings Glenn Quirion and fiancée Michelle Calamaras of South Florida and Michelle (Quirion) Edwards of Connecticut. Other siblings are Jeff Quirion, Angela Quirion, Brian Smith and wife Heather, Jeff Smith and wife Pamela, Shelby (Smith) Valentino and husband Paul, including many nieces and nephews, all from Connecticut. He also leaves behind Brothers Tommy Reilly, Frank Luca and Bryan Walton of South Florida; Thaddeus Scott, Chris (Cito) Sidavong, Chris Palmer, Enid Betancourt, Ted Montuori and Frank Barresi of Connecticut; Scott Calloway of South Carolina and Dale Blake of Texas as well as Sisters Brianne (Reilly) Modeen and Heather Hence of Connecticut.
Tony was passionate about South Florida sports teams, The University of Miami Hurricanes, The Miami Dolphins, The Miami Heat and The New York Yankees as well as Harley Davidson Motorcycles and Jeeps.
Tony requested informal memorial calling hours and they will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 3 to 5 PM at Dellavecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. in Southington, CT. Those wishing to pay last respects are strongly encouraged, per Tony’s last wishes, to wear clothing or sports gear representing any of his passions listed above.
