

Victor was born on December 24, 1944, in Oakville, Connecticut to Evelyn Mendelis Wasilauskas and Victor P. Wasilauskas. He was the youngest of three boys and spent his childhood years enjoying the company of his older brothers, Joe, and Ben. He attended South Elementary School in Oakville, CT and graduated from Mt. St. Joseph High School in Baltimore, MD. He earned his undergraduate degree from Mt. St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD and received his Medical Degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center. Following the conclusion of his medical training, he served for two years in the United States Army Medical Corp at the Andrew Rader Clinic at Fort Meyer, Virginia, attaining the rank of Major.
The early years of his professional life were spent in Waterbury, CT as an associate of Dr. Lawrence Beauchamp. He then established a private medical practice and continued serving the people in the Waterbury area. As he approached retirement and left private practice, he worked as a Center Medical Director for Concentra Occupational Health. Throughout his professional life, Victor was respected for his clinical expertise and was thought of as a kind and compassionate man by all those he interacted with.
He married Marion Genova in 2004. During their years together they traveled in their motor home to several states and especially loved New England in the Fall. They were both animal lovers and devoted many hours caring for and enjoying the company of their cats. Victor was deeply committed to providing the best care for his wife and her mother as they struggled with chronic illness in the final years of their lives. He was close to his stepdaughter, Marla Genova, and to his neighbor, Nancy Goodrich. They both provided hours of loving care and companionship during his prolonged illness. He also enjoyed weekly Zoom calls with his brothers Joe and Ben and the occasional get-togethers with family at Joe’s home on Lake Bantam.
He is survived by his four children, Victor Wasilauskas (Kelly), James (Wasilauskas) Polisano, Heather Paulsgraf (Frank), and Michael Wasilauskas; his stepchildren Marla and Peter Genova; grandchildren Anthony (Amanda), Quinton, and Alyssa Paulsgraf, Sadie, Elijah, and Hannah Wasilauskas; great-grandchildren Scarlett and Anthony Paulsgraf; brother Benedict L. Wasilauskas, Ph.D. (Carol) and sister-in law, Loretta Wasilauskas; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on April 10, 2026, at Saint Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington, CT. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
