Vincenza Guarino

Vincenza "Vina" (Silvestri) Guarino, 93, of Southington, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Summit of Plantsville surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Valentino Guarino.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1920, in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Teresa (Bencivenga) Silvestri.

Vina was a secretary for the Dept. of Social Services in Brooklyn, NY, retiring in 1982.

She is survived by her three children, Valentino Guarino and wife Shari, Diane Guarino all of Southington and Raymond Guarino and wife Rosemary of FL; 8 grandchildren, Valerie Guarino-Tito, Michael Guarino, Jennifer Kahn, Christine Guarino-Myers, Stacey Moore, Lisa Hammond and Eric and Craig Smith; 10 great grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Jake, Lovisa, Cameron, Ethan, Boden, Owen, Mason and Evan. She also leaves two nieces, a nephew and a brother-in-law Ralph. She also leaves her beloved cat Molly.

Funeral Services will be held on this Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at South End Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday morning from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Spring Rd.
