
Born in Groton on May 22, 1924, he was the son of the late William Wylie Sr. and Lillian (Goss) Wylie. He was a school bus owner/operator for the town of Bethany for many years. He loved animals and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Besides his devoted wife of 56 years, he is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Gilbert Wylie and a sister Lois Davis.
Bill?s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Waterbury Hospital and VITAS Hospice of Middlebury for their compassionate care.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday at the Shrine of St. Anne 515 S. Main St. followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hour will be Friday morning from 9 to 10 AM at the church. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Wolcott has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Rose Hope Animal Refuge c/o Petsmart 475 Bank St. Waterbury 06708.
