Ann was born in St. Catharines on a snowy day in January 1951 to the late Lorne and Dorothy Chapman. After attending St. Catharines Collegiate, Ann graduated from Brock University with a Honours B.A. Psychology and worked in a variety of positions in publishing, finance and communications in Toronto, Ottawa and the Maritimes. On December 6, 1986 she married Peter George Koppel at St. George’s Anglican Church and spent 27 wonderful years together before Peter’s death in 2013.
They lived in the Ottawa area and in Victoria Harbour on Georgian Bay. Many enjoyable days were spent with Ann and “Captain Peter” on their pontoon boat in Victoria Harbour with family and friends. After Peter’s death, Ann returned to St. Catharines.
She became very active in St. George’s Anglican Church putting her faith into action. Her dedication, organizational skills and leadership in the Community Breakfast Program and the Community Dinner Program were exemplary. She was the recipient of the Order of Niagara in 2022 for her service to the church and the wider community.
Ann is survived by her loving brother Paul (Susan); brother-in-law John (Suzanne); nephew Rob (Kerrie) children Emily and Nathan; niece Jennifer (Chris) children Noah and Julia.
