We would like to thank all of you for posting your memories of dad here.  It has been so precious to read them and to think upon your memories.  It is truly amazing how one life can touch so many lives.  Arnot had a gift for caring and loving people.  He so loved to walk up to someone and find out about their life.  Invariably he would share the most impactful day of his life, February 27, 1944 , when he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour to take care of his sin and receive everlasting life.  And to tell them that they too can receive that precious gift if they acknowledge they are a sinner and ask for forgiveness and ask the Lord to save them from that sin. He is  enjoying  his Saviour in heaven. now.  We pray that you too will make this very important step of faith and receive God's salvation and spend eternity with your Saviour in heaven.  
May the Lord bless each of you as you remember dad and his love for God.

My late husband Dave Saj and Arnot met in an airport when traveling. Ever since that day,after they sat next to each other on the plane, they became friends who enjoyed sharing their love for God. I am grateful to have met Arnot and his friend Bill at the airport that day and out a few times after that. I was honored when Arnot and Bill travelled to Buffalo, NY  to speak at my husband's memorial service. Arnot was a very special man and he will be missed. I know he will be welcomed home graciously by Jesus. 

I will never forget the first time I met brother Arnot McIntee. It was the beginning of family camp at Camp LiLoLi in the summer of 2010. I was a new employee at camp and was at the shop working when I saw an elderly man walking up the road. He came right up to me,  introduced himself, welcomed me to camp and asked if he could pray with me. When he prayed and asked God‘a blessing on me and my family, I felt as though I was almost in the throne room of heaven. I new at that moment there was something special about this man and that I wanted to call him my friend. What a loving, godly man was our beloved brother. I will miss him much.

Michelle and I first met Arnot at Scottlea Gospel Chapel in the early 1980s.  I consider him to be my spiritual father.  On the morning of September 26 he preached from Mark's gospel chapter 10 concerning the rich young ruler.  Before the evening meeting I met with Arnot and accepted Jesus as my Saviour.  We spent many wonderful hours with Arnot and his dear Helen.  He always encouraged me in my spiritual walk even after we moved to Ottawa. I am thankful that I was able to speak with him via phone just a few weeks before his home calling to be with his Lord. 

Thank you so much to you as a family, for sharing dear Arnot with us today.  We all have so many wonderful memories, more than we could share, but I am grateful for his spiritual influence on my life, and my husband Bruce who is already in Heaven.  Arnot and Ernie Sprunt encouraged Bruce to write for Youth Talk, so I'm blessed to have a copy of one of those. 
Our Frey fmaily has a very precious letter he wrote to Mom and Dad on June 8, 1989 and Ezra received it after Mom went to Heaven on the 9th.  Of course it was beautifully ended with, "Yours awaiting the Shout".  Hearing Arnot ending with the Gospel message was so special, and motivates me to continue to share the Good News in the short time we have on this earth.

I First met Arnot MacIntee back some 50 years ago.  He was visiting The Maritimes on behalf of The Family Bible Hour and Jim Stahr asked me to meet Mr. MacIntee's plane.  Following his presentation at The Chapel I was privileged to accompany him on a visit with  (Aunt Janie) an elderly lady in a local Care Home.  I loved him for his gracious manner with this senior saint, he treated her like she was the Queen of England. 
Arnot was the speaker at The Men's Retreat at Malagash Bible Camp some years later, he was a delight to work with.  
I appreciated Arnot's teaching, especially the way he could draw others with him as he approached both the Cross and the Throne.   
I have fond memories of the last time I saw Arnot, he was staying with family at their Summer home near Lunenburg, NS. I had been working in the area and I dropped by to spend what proved to be some very precious moments with this Godly Gentleman.

Our dearest memories of Uncle Arn arise from the annual Thomson Family picnics, where he and Aunt Helen graced the day with their love, warmth and beautiful smiles. They both took a keen interest in our lives, and we were blessed by their encouragement. It’s difficult to think of Uncle Arn without his beloved Helen, as they were a perfect couple, and very much in love. What a sweet reunion they are enjoying in Heaven! We extend our deepest sympathy to Joanne and Allan and your families in your loss. 


As we celebrate the life of our dear Arnot McIntee especially today, we want to begin by giving thanks to God for blessing us with such a dear friend and Godly mentor and role model. We got to know Arnot at Scottlea Bible Chapel shortly after moving to St. Catharines about 16 years ago. Occasional correspondence with Arnot gradually progressed into a very meaningful friendship between our family and Arnot that included Arnot providing us with personal, marital, and family spiritual mentorship and even some counselling. We treasure Arnot’s steadfast and deep faith in God and his Saviour Jesus Christ, his passion for evangelism, and his wit and ever-ready affirmation, affection, and good-natured humor. Arnot also taught us much about the Bible including end-times prophesy, friendship with Israel, and what it means to “take up our cross and follow Jesus.” We especially benefited from Arnot’s extensive bible knowledge, sermons, authored books, and powerful prayers that steered people to a deeper awareness of and respect for God and His word. Arnot was a humble servant of Christ who greatly enriched our lives and faith. We will miss him! Thank you, God for Arnot’s rich legacy of faith, love, and service.

My memories of Arnot go back many years to his directing Teen Camp at Camp Li-Lo-Li.  He did then, and ever since, show heartfelt love to each, and to all of us. That was true as he preached and in spending time with us individually.  He and his dear wife, Helen, demonstrated their Christiam love and faithfulness up to the time of their home going.  What a testimony!
Thank you so much, Lord, for Arnot!  And God bless his wonderful family and many friends in the days ahead.  He is with his Savior, which is "far better".

One of our earliest memories was in 1968 when Arnot and his brother Ross came to Halifax, NS for a S. S. Teachers Conference. They stayed with Heather and me and our growing family. It was a blessed time! Over the years it has been a privilege to work with him at FBH and recording weekly messages. I have precious memories of staying weekly in their home for about 8 months and working with him. The love, care and fellowship that Helen and Arnot showed me was wonderful. I enjoyed years working on the board with him and others. His godly wisdom and counsel was appreciated. God endowed him with a compassionate gift in the gospel and ministry. He "rests from his labours & his works follow him" Rev 14:13. 

I was privileged to hear Arnot speak in a little chapel in Ontario many years ago when my children were small. I could not have imagined then what a positive influence he would have on my family.  My son was truly blessed when he met Arnot’s beautiful granddaughter, Fawn, at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa and somehow convinced her to marry him. This woman’s faith and strength of character is a reflection of her Grampa’s living example of Christian values.  Arnot’s patient, nurturing wisdom created a steadfast foundation for marriage and children that I cherish and love.  It shines now in my own grandchildren. It is his legacy to us all. I am grateful to God for Arnot’s life and his unselfish dedication to faithfully serving Him.


I came to know Arnot by marrying his niece Mary (nee McIntee). Since the first time I met him, I have had nothing but respect and admiration for him. His commitment to excellence in bi-vocational ministry was amazing. He seemed to be a consummate elder and pastor who genuinely cared for people. He was an encourager in my life and taught me by his example to hold the truth of God firmly in the hand of grace and love.  We will greatly miss this pillar of the faith. 

Arnot made a life-changing impact on the Hughes family when, through him, the Lord called us back to Canada from Ecuador. We worked together for 2 years at Family Bible Hour, as he showed me the ropes. I have far too many memories to recount here, other than to mention how often he'd walk around singing his favourite hymns. His legacy in the Lord's work is too big to measure!

I am eternally grateful to Arnot, as he brought my dad to the Lord less than a month before my father’s passing.  Arnot visited him several times…he sat and chatted with him like a dear friend. 

20+ years later I saw Arnot at a FBH conference and I started to cry as soon as I saw him.  I thanked him perfusely and told him how grateful I was to him that he brought my dad to the Lord  He sat and stroked my hand and said “it’s okay dear”. He said: “I remember your dad, he was a tough nut to crack.”

I just watched “Thank You” by Ray Boltz…it was a beautiful reminder of how the Lord used Arnot to impact my dad…I cried once again.  I can see my dad at the front of a long line welcoming Arnot to heaven and declaring “Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed”

Joanne, we were saddened to hear of your Dad's passing, even though we know that he ran the race well, and is safely home.
We always loved when he came to Lunenburg.  He had such enthusiasm and passion when preaching the word of God.  It was a joy and a privilege to sit under his teaching.

Mary Elizabeth and I have like so many others, been blessed to the uttermost for having had so many opportunities to fellowship with Arnot.
Having served with Arnot on the board of  Family Bible Hour and also spent many early mornings together in prayer at Malagash Bible Camp were wonderful times I will never forget and will always be thankful for.
We know Arnot is with Christ and other loved ones gone on before but we also know his bodily presence will be missed here, we pray for sustaining grace especially  for Joanne, David, Allan, and Betsy.

What a wonderful man and a true example of the Lord at work in our heart. I arrived at Faith Baptist Chapel by chance on a Sunday when Arnot was the guest preacher. His message inspired my journey to the Lord. I will be forever grateful to Arnot for that day. My deepest sympathy to Joanne and the rest of Arnot's family. Praying for you at this difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. McIntee 's passing .A soft spoken man who loved our Lord.We always looked forward to his messages at FBC when in the Lunenburg area .We are sending prayers for the family . 

We were saddened to hear of your dads passing.  Absent from the body and present with the Lord. We know how much he loved the Lord through his messages which we heard when he spoke at Faith Baptist Chapel. May God bless you all !

I will never forget Arnot's gracious warm welcome  as he chaired my first visit to Scottlea Gospel Chapel in 1982. (Not long over from Scotland) We became instant friends  and shared wonderful times of fellowship at many different places and functions over the years. Arnot & Helen were very precious to us and their Godly lives and example were an inspiration and encouragement  to us in the work of the Lord.

He will be greatly missed and we extend our sympathy that the God of all comfort  will minister to each member of the family during this sad time. The great reunion day is near.

What can I say about my dear brother in the Lord, my dear friend. I cherished every time I had the privilege to talk to him over the phone, or have lunch with him or meet in his study. Every time we met he made me feel like I was the most important person. He never focused on himself, always bringing the discussion back to me and more importantly to how our Lord was working in my life. 

I have so many good memories, but I will share one. I remember as a young man his loving arm wrapping around my shoulders as I walked down the isle at the chapel and him saying, “hi brother, what have you been enjoying in the Lord this week”? That is only a small example of his influence over  the decades in this young mans life. The ongoing counsel and encouragement over the many stages of life. He will be greatly missed and has been greatly loved. 


I am so very thankful to have served with others, on the Board of Family Bible Hour under Arnot's Leadership.  As a younger man I remember his Godly Wisdom and careful consideration regarding each matter discussed.  He only desired that the Lord would be honored and Glorified, and that the Glorious Gospel would spread to the far reaches of the world, that Souls would be won for Christ.
Eileen joins with me in expressing our Sympathies to Joanne and David, and Alan and Betsy, and the rest of the family members.   

Arnot was a great mentor to me and so many other young people at St Catharines Collegiate, Queenston St Gospel Hall/ Scottlea and Camp Li Lo Li.  He always presented the Gospel with passion.  He was always patient and kind. I visited with Arnot two weeks before his passing. What rich fellowship we enjoyed!  John

Arnot was a dear friend. 
When I started out in the Lord’s work,  Arnot’s kindness and words were a great encouragement and a special blessing. He always had a good word to say about the Lord and about the Lord’s people. 
I have great memories of sitting around the table in his home after preaching and enjoying fellowship with him and Helen while eating her special sweet snacks! 
When Arnot preached it was with passion for Christ! His balance of scriptural truths and godly living made him a true example to those of us who are waiting our turn to meet the Lord through the Shout or through the Valley.

Met Arnot at many Inter School Christian Fellowship outings.  He was an inspirational speaker.  He was fun loving and generous.  He was a wonderful role model who changed many.

We had the privilege of getting know Arnot and his brother Ross in 1975.  We fellowshipped over the the years with them, and heard brother Arnot many times in the gospel and in ministry of the word of God. We were sorry to hear of Arnot's passing but we know that he is now with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.                                                                      2 Corinthians 5:1-8
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

The obit is a great start. But our dear friend also wrote Choice Gleanings Calendar meditations, authored several books, contributed to Youth Talk Sunday School papers, taught the young people for many years at Queenston Street Gospel Hall, served as an elder at Scottlea Gospel Chapel, officiated at weddings, discipled young men, spoke at conferences all across North America, and the list goes on. "Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ 'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them'” (Rev 14:13).


“Uncle Arn” was always a friendly face, a firm handshake and a gracious word.  He made the people he interacted with feel important and loved.  I think it was his love for Jesus that oozed out in his interaction with others.  

Never could forget Mr. McIntee! I attended the first year of the Adult Education  programs at the St. Catharines Collegiate! I believe that was in 1961/62  Very memorable!!

I have always looked up to and respected my Uncle Arn. The day he went way up in my estimation I was about nine years old. After the Assembly Labor Day Picnic at McFarlands Point for some reason I was sent with my uncle in his car and we were going to meet the rest of the family for ice cream at Avondale Dairy in the country. We arrive first and to my amazement Uncle Arn ordered a double scoop ice cream cone for me. I had never had one and was over the top with excitement.  

Years later at the conclusion of a New Years Eve service he came bounding over to me, gave me a big kiss and turned to my boyfriend and said “ Wanted to be the first to kiss her this year!”

For years Uncle Arn has been an encouragement and support to Chuck and I as we have served the Lord together. Seeing how he transitioned in his senior years out of ministry handing his responsibilities over to the next generation has impacted us in the last few years. We are grateful to the Lord for his godly example.
