OBITUARY

Brent Ian Guy Masterson

October 18, 1962November 3, 2020

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Brent Ian Guy Masterson. Brent was born in St. Catharines on October 18, 1962.

Brent was a graduate of Niagara College, where he met his wife Anne. He was a devoted father and husband. He was the rock in his mother’s life, supporting her after his father’s death and tending to her many needs in her twilight years. Brent’s warm smile, gentle and generous spirit, and quiet sense of humour will be missed by all the lives he touched.

Brent was pre-deceased by his father Glenn, mother Yvonne, stepfather Ken Johnston, and mother-in-law Catherine. Brent leaves behind his wife Anne, son Jordan (Jen), daughter Hayleigh, and furry sidekick Tessa, as well as sisters Lynn (Sampson), Lesleigh, brother Scott (Sue), brothers-in-law John (Lynda) and Robert (Nancy), step-sisters Gail and Laurie, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Hulse and English Funeral Home & Chapel at 75 Church Street, St. Catharines. Brent will be laid to rest at Pleasantview Cemetery. Due to current COVID restrictions, the funeral service will be by invitation only. Friends are welcome to attend the visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. All visitors to the funeral home must wear a mask or face-shield, check in at the entrance, and maintain social distancing. There may be a small delay so we can maintain adequate numbers in the visiting room. Visitors are asked to remain in their vehicles until a member of the staff directs you into the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Diabetes Foundation in his memory.

I was very saddened last week to hear of the passing of Brent. His son Jordan is the partner of my niece Jennifer. Brent was a very kind gentlemen that had a way of always making people feel special and welcome. I didn't know him really well - but he always felt like family. I will miss him. My deepest condolences to Jordan, Jen, and the Masterson family. - Robert & Jessy

It is with the deepest sadness that we learned of Brent’s passing. Brent will be missed up at the “ cottage “ in Victoria Harbour where he enjoyed visiting every summer. His pleasant manner and smile will be remembered as one of his most visible trait.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brent and his family many years ago, when his sister Lynn invited me to the cottage. I remember him as a very kind man, who loved his family. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends. It's never easy to lose someone , especially a family member. May he R.I.P.
My sister and I would have loved to be at the funeral, but having just lost our father, it's too soon. But, we will be there in spirit.
Sending hugs and love to my friend Lynn.

I worked for several years with Brent at Costco where we were sales agents for PWD and then CDS demo services. I appreciated his cheerful attitude and reliability. I enjoyed a minute of conversation when he took over my event table. Brent you are way too young to go. We miss you. Condolences to your family.

I am truly devastated by the loss of my wonderful cousin. I always enjoyed talking with Brent and hearing his laugh. He was always so gentle and kind. I know he was a loving husband and father. He was a pillar of strength for his late mother, Yvonne.
I still have a postcard that Brent sent to me when he went on a trip to Alberta when he was a teenager. I treasured every moment I spent with him at our Masterson family reunions.
My thoughts and prayers are with Anne, Jordan, Hayleigh, and Lynn, Lezleigh, and Scott...
