

Surrounded by love, in her 98th year, Edith Elliott, a life long resident of St. Catharines, died in hospital, three days after suffering a stroke. Predeceased, in 1996, by her beloved husband Gordon, for the past 17 years Edith was a resident at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village. She is survived by her children: Tim Elliott (Judy Maddren), Anne Elliott, Peter Elliott (Thomas Roach), her grandchildren Jeremy (Carolyn Shaver) Simon (Holly Andruchuk), Benjamin (Rachel Cairns), and Pippa (Tim MacKay), Emma and Aaron, and her great grandsons Thomas William Elliott and Cody Arthur MacKay. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Anne Purcell, her sisters Freda, Doris and Joan, and her son-in-law Christopher Lind. The family will be forever grateful to her loving companions: niece Elizabeth Connor-Elliott, Fran Jones, Beryl Holtam and Margie Reid.
Visitation at the Hulse and English Funeral Home, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines, (905-684-6346), Thursday May 7 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. All are welcome to join Edith’s family to give thanks for her life on Friday May 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Requiem Eucharist at St. Thomas Anglican Church 99 Ontario Street (at Church Street), St. Catharines followed by a reception, then interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery; and at 3 p.m. A Celebration of Edith’s Life in the Auditorium at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village.
