

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend on October 31st, 2011 at the age of 87. Ed is survived by his loving wife Geri, daughters Cindi (David) Lee and Penni (Arkell) Farr, grandchildren Catrina, Amanda, Melissa, Brendan, Arkell, and Hillary, and seven great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by Geri’s children, Hope Harris, Susan Dempsey, Betsie Rajani, Lisa Dempsey, and Edward Dempsey, and grandchildren, Olive, Aaron, Sarite, Oren, Asha, Chloe, and Samantha. Ed was predeceased by his first wife Shirlee (1991 ), and his brother Walt. Ed served in the Canadian Air Force, and was a long time member of the Niagara Regional Police Force. He was also a member of the International Police Association, as well as Past Master of the Masonic Lodge. Ed loved to travel, taking many photos through his journeys. He was a brilliant man, self taught, and very well read. He was an avid card player and fisherman. A special thank you to the staff at Niagara Gardens for the wonderful care and kindness that was shown to him. Thank you also to Mary for her “Timmies” visits, and Ozzie for his special Thursday visits.
As per Edward’s wishes cremation has taken place. Ed’s family will receive visitors at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Saturday November 5th, from 11:00am-1:00pm with a Service of Remembrance taking place in the Hulse and English Chapel at 1:00pm. A private family interment to take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or to a charity of your choice.
