Eleanor Martha Skrydstrup

Passed away peacefully at Tufford Nursing Home in her 90th year on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Born Wednesday, November 3, 1926 to Fred (1993) and Emma (1983) Skrydstrup. Predeceased by Marie (1985), Gordon (2004), Walter (1970) and LeRoy (2009). Beloved Aunt Eleanor (Uggie) to Sharon (late Calvin) Glasser, Brian (Monika), Diane (Roger) Bain, Sandra (Sandy) Santarelli and Debra (Bill) Wilson. Great Aunt to Shawn, Dana, Carol Ann, Ryan, Jennifer, David, Kerri, Adam and Sarah. Great-Great Aunt to Laura, Taylor, Victor, Andrew, Ashley, Allyson, Hailee, Morgan, Marleigh and new baby Kaya.

Eleanor was the striking beauty behind the brass revolving doors as you entered Eaton’s at St. Paul and William Streets since the age of 18 in 1944 for 46 years. She loved her stunning wardrobe, high-heel shoes, landscaping her yard, vegetable garden with fresh green tomatoes and green beans, and sun-tanning with a beer and cigarette in hand.

We thank Tufford Nursing Home staff (you know who you are) for three years of dedicated service, allowing her to remain in the neighbourhood she loved and lived her entire life for 89 years. We also thank Rob at Hulse & English for all your help.

Visitation will take place at Hulse & English Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 400 Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines (viewing one hour prior to service), with internment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to “Upstairs Washroom Fund” at Resurrection Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
