CHRISTENSEN, Elizabeth Anne It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth on March 25, 2020 at the age of 85 at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Beloved wife of Carl Christensen, for 55 wonderful years. Loving mother of Mark (Liz) and Trina (fiancé Jamie). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Evan, Andrew, Owen (deceased), Aubrey (deceased) and Graham, and great-grandchildren Mack and Madison. Survived by her brother, James. Predeceased by her sister, Mary Helen, and brothers Harry, Norbert, Gerald, Harold, John, Joseph, and Paul. Elizabeth will also be fondly remembered by many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

As a Registered Nurse, Elizabeth spent numerous years as a nursing educator in Kitchener (St. Mary’s Hospital) and in Niagara (Mack School of Nursing and Niagara College). Given the current circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service has been scheduled, with a public service welcoming extended family and friends to be scheduled at a later date.

Memorial donations to Niagara Health Foundation St. Catharines Site (St. Catharines General) would be appreciated. Online tributes may be shared at www.hulseandenglish.com

I was a student at Mack School of Nursing in the early 70s. Mrs. C. was very supportive to me. She also role modeled kindness, calmness and a sense of humor, as a professional. She was an empathetic listener. She is one of my fondest memories of my time there. My sincere sympathies to her husband and her family.

Carl, Mark and Trina,

I am sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Mrs Christensen, after school play and snacks or Saturday cartoons and lunch...Eric Sauve said it the best "I remember her as a great Mother and gracious sleepover host. I also remember the Morris Marina she would sometimes drive us around in". Good childhood memories, I am grateful to have known her kindness.

Be well everyone, Mark

Our heartfelt condolences, Carl, and family on the loss of a spouse, a life partner, and mother. Elizabeth was a friend and colleague at the Mack Regional School of Nursing and at Niagara College. Elizabeth was an excellent teacher, in the area of medical and surgical nursing She had a keen sense of humour, was a gracious hostess, and a lover of beautiful gardens and classical music.
May you experience God's loving and comforting arms surrounding you, giving you a sense of His presence and His peace. With our love and prayers.

Mark and Liz,

We are so sorry for your loss. While we did not know your mother it is clear that she lived a full and rewarding life. She has left a great legacy through her work and through her family. As you grieve her loss hopefully you can also find time to reflect on her life and the impact she has had on so many people. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you through this time.
