Betty passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General in Niagara Falls, Ontario on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the age of 82.
Predeceased by her husband Richard Howlett, her mother Clara Armstrong (Langille), her adoptive parents Bert and Sarah Fraser of River John, Nova Scotia, and her siblings Bruce and Roberta. Betty was born March 9, 1942, in River John, Nova Scotia. In 1960, Betty studied nursing at St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. After obtaining her Practical Nurse License, she moved to St. Catharines and worked at the Hotel Dieu Hospital and Shaver Hospital until her retirement.
Betty had a love of animals and volunteered with the Animal Assistance Society for many years.
Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by four half siblings in Nova Scotia, and many dear friends who were like family.
