Frances "Fran" Jean Fraser Gropp

GROPP, Frances Jean (nee Fraser) – Born to John And Eleanor Fraser, Fran passed peacefully at the St. Catharines Hospital on Sunday, July 6th in her 80th year. Beloved wife of Ronald Frederick predeceased in 2009. Loving mother to Janice and Ray Jackson, Alan and Liisa, and David and Jane. Grandmother to Kathleen, Bryan, Jeffrey, Sara, Jennifer, Julia and Michael. Fran, born in Ottawa, Ontario, became a Registered Nurse at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and after a brief role as a stewardess in TCA practiced nursing for many years. Throughout her 50 year marriage to Ron, Fran had the opportunity to live in numerous places in Ontario and Quebec, spending the last 40 years as a resident in St. Catharines where she was a passionate volunteer through her work in Community Care, St. Catharines Hospice and the May Court Club where she served as president from 1990 to 1991.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346), on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00 am from St. Thomas Anglican Church, 99 Ontario Street, St. Catharines. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

As a cancer survivor for 25 years, the family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the professionalism and care by the many doctors, nurses and health care workers who provided for Fran with special thanks to Dr. Lucey and Dr. Giesbrecht.
