

SAMPSON, Frank Eastwood – Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 100th year. Beloved father of David of Tallahassee, Florida and Beth Knox (Ronald) of Sanborn, N.Y. He is survived by his dearest friend and companion Shirley Junkin. Dear grandfather of Paul Sampson (Anita), Michal Ford (John), Mark Sampson (Lyn), Peter Sampson (Debbie), James Knox (Brenda), Tammy Wagner (Peter) and Brian Knox. Also survived by fifteen great grandchildren and his nephew Geoffrey Hewett of Orillia and niece Susan LeTendre of Etobicoke. Predeceased by his wife Elsie; sister Marjorie Hewett and his former daughter-in-law Ruth Sampson. Frank was born and educated in Toronto. He retired from Bell Canada in 1972 after 40 years of service. A past Master of Maple Leaf Masonic Lodge #103 and a member of Elgin Lodge of Perfection, Niagara Chapter of Rose Croix, Niagara Falls and Moore Sovereign Consistory 32, Hamilton. He served in the R.C.A.F. in World War II. A life member of Sawmill Golf Course, a member of the Church of the Transfiguration (Anglican) in St. Catharines. At Frank’s request cremation has take place. A Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto.
