George Dillon Clarke

CLARKE, George Dillon – Peacefully at Billings Court Manor, Burlington, on February 19, 2016 at the age of 87. Predeceased by his beloved wife Lois of 52 years. Loving father of Jon and his wife Noreen of Mississauga, David (Krista) of Oakville, Tim and his wife Sally of Streamwood, Illionis, and Jeff and his wife Stacey of Red Deer, Alberta. Grandfather of Geoffrey, Robert, Lauren, Ryan, Sean, Andrew, Nicholas, and Kevin.

A well-respected member of the shipping industry, George retired from Misener Transportation as Vice President of Transportation after working there from 1949 to 1991. He went on to work for P&H Shipping where he served as General Manager from 1991 to 2001. George also sat on the Board of Directors of the Marine Club for many years and held the position of President in 2002. An avid golfer, George was a member at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club since April 27, 1967 and held the position of President from 1985 to 1988. A private Family Graveside Service will be held at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

Reception for family and friends will be held at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, 70 Westchester Ave., on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
