

February 18, 1929 – October 9, 2014 –
Passed away peacefully in his 86th year surrounded by family on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Gordon was born in Toronto and has lived in St. Catharines most of his life. He is much loved and dearly missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Irene Armstrong and his children Robert (Kathy), Libby (Glenn), Carolyn (Jim), and Jeff Poss. Proud Grandpa of Ava, Evan, Jordan, Melinda (Adam), and Megan. Survived by his sisters in law; Marion Mooradian, Erma Nesbitt and Doris Armstrong, as well as brothers in law Bob Armstrong and Arthur Robinson (Mary Jane). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and good friends. Predeceased by his parents William and Ruth MacGregor and brother Bill and his wife Cora. Gord was an avid fan of all things automotive, and worked as a tool-and-die maker retiring from Dana Canada in 1989. Thank you to the hospital staff on 2A, as well as the Scottlea Presbyterian Church family.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346). A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. (meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m.) at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service to celebrate Gord’s life will follow at 11 a.m. at Scottlea Presbyterian Church, 515 Scott St. (905-646-0616) with Reverend Martin Wehrmann officiating. If desired, memorial donations made to Sleeping Children Around the World , Scottlea Presbyterian Church or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
