WHITE, Grace- A true lady, went to be with her maker and the ladies of the Pilot Club on November 11, 2010. Her age ?-She has advised that she will take that bit of knowledge with her. Born in London, England and resided in Belgium for many years. Predeceased by her father Thomas White and mother Grace Breden White, as well as her brother Thomas White. Grace will be missed by her nephew Robert White and his family in England. Also survived by extended family from Belgium being Herman de Winne and his daughters Inge and Saskia, and by Denise Suikerbuyck-de Winne and her children Nico and Tania. Grace was a jewelry buyer for D.F. Smith Jewelers for over 30 years and subsequently worked for Birk’s Jewelers. She took great pride in knowing “fine” pieces of jewelry and being able to spot the work of great jewelers of the past at a glance. Grace was a volunteer for many years at Rodman Hall and a member of St. George’s Anglican Church. A very special thank you to Herman de Winne who took on the role of her “butler” in her final days. One of the last statements that Grace made was that Herman “had the patience of Job, sitting and watching over her and seeing to her needs”. At Grace’s request cremation has taken place. A visitation period will take place from 10:00 am-11:00am at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) A Celebration of life will follow at 11:00 in the Hulse and English Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara. On-line condolences may be made at www.hulseandenglish.com.
