Janice Isobel Alton

September 27, 1947January 3, 2021

Died unexpectedly on January 3rd in St. Catharines. Survived by daughter Kate, grandchildren Eleanor and Luca, sister Merrill (Mauri), niece Mara (Andre), nephews William (Victoriana) and Robert, great nephew Emmett and cousins Nancy Teminski, Diane Legge and Peter Stasiak, and other extended family. Her loss is acutely felt. Passionate about the performing arts, Janice was a wonderful dancer, a beloved teacher, a powerful actor and an accomplished costume designer. Her lifelong involvement with Garden City Productions was central to her happiness, particularly in her final years. She inspired countless young people to pursue their passions in dance and theatre. Donations to Garden City Productions in her memory are greatly appreciated.

Sending my deepest condolences to the family of Janice. I worked with Janice for several years. She spoke with great pride and excitement of her daughter and her grand baby twins. Proudly sharing photo updates. She was a very compassionate woman with great respect for the elders in the community and a passion to help them. My favourite memories of Janice include her theatrical commentary and clever sense of humour. I secretly loved when she would critique my grammar in emails, to which I would lovingly
Return the favour 😆. Thank you for the memories. May you rest in peace Janice.
