Joseph "Joey" Jude Alexander Carey Jr.

Joseph Jude Alexander Carey Jr. passed away suddenly due to heart problems at the Niagara Health System in St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the age of 28. Sadly missed by his children; Isabella, Alecxavier, Violet & Grayston, his mother Patricia Carey and his siblings; Christopher ( Vanessa), Tricia ( Philip), Jayne, Cassandra (Brian) Melody, Judie & Chris. Uncle Tom Zukowsky (Pat). Cousins; Sam, Leah, Stephanie, Michael,and Max Zukowsky. Also missed by his nieces & nephews Kiersten, Kayla, Kaileigh, Kennadie, Kori, Nicholas, Taylor, Reilly, Joshua, Aaron, Crystal, & Courtney. Family CB. NS. Wayne(Rose), Vernon, Sarah (Wayne), Brian (Arlene), Carl (Lillian), Kevin (Leslie), Darlene(Melvin), Bill (Gina), Brenda (Wayne),& Melody. Many numerous nieces and nephews.

Joey is predeceased by his father Jude Carey (2004), grandparents from Cape Breton, NS; Joe-Joe & Dorothy Carey, uncles Lester,& Sheldon Carey, uncle Laurence & cousin CJ and also grandparents; Alec & Beatrice (nee Bomberry) Zukowsky, his uncles Mike, Steve and Earl Zukowsky and his Aunt Elaine (Eric) Pero.

Joey was a kind, loving and selfless father who also helped the homeless in any way he could, be it buying food or providing a place to stay for the night. He always put smiles on everyone’s faces, he will be missed by all who knew him, especially his furry cats; Crazy Eyes & Sucky Baby!

Joey was very active in sports. He played with Thorold Athletics and St. Catharines Cobras, also ball hockey and slo pitch baseball with his brother Chris, lacrosse and was on the Thorold hockey team. He loved all sports and people.

A visitation (please call 905 684 6346 to register) will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines, with a funeral service to follow in the chapel (please call to register) at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow.
