Joseph Lloyd Reid

REID, Joseph Lloyd - With sadness, the family of Joseph Reid announce his passing on August 14, 2015 at St. Catharines, a few weeks short of his 98th birthday. Beloved husband of Shirley Reid (Healey) and father of Joanne Reid (Stephen Sprague) and John Reid, stepfather of Dale Healey (Cathy) and Kim Rourke (Norman). Predeceased by his first wife Ann and son David and his four brothers and two sisters. Joseph leaves grandchildren Leah Sprague, Celia Sprague (Blake Van Winkle) and John Sprague, Christopher (Shanna) Rourke, Kaitlyn (John) Barkley, Meighan and Mikael Healey and great-grandchildren Rosalie, Luc and Henry. Joseph dedicated his life to public service, first to his country as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps and later as a representative of the community he loved as a city alderman, regional councilor, St. Catharines mayor and Member of Parliament. In this giving spirit, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

The family will receive friends at the Hulse and English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346) on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00. Funeral services will be held at First Grantham United Church on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:00.
