Lillian Emily Russell

Died peacefully after a brief illness on January 15, 2009 at the St.Catharines General Hospital, in her 95th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband David (1965) and nephew Stuart (2008). Survived by her loving daughter Elizabeth Kalina (Paterson, New Jersey) and devoted son David and daughter-in-law Sharon (Waterdown, Ontario). She also leaves a large extended family and many loyal friends. Lillian enjoyed a long and fulfilling life. For over 25 years she worked as a volunteer with the Children’s Aid Society and the M.S. Society. She traveled to over 50 countries and was passionate about fine art, antiques and interior decorating. Lillian remained active and independent in her home until 4 months before her death. Special thanks to Drs. Chris Blewett and Sandra Hartman and the nursing staff of 4 East and Palliative Care for their diligent and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation January 21, 2009 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, (905-684-6346), 75 Church Street, St. Catharines Ontario followed by a memorial service in the Chapel. After the service, a lunch reception will be held next door at St. George’s Anglican Church. Private interment will take place January 22 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Burlington, Ontario.
