Born in 1941, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 with his devoted wife Monika (nee Nottrodt) at his bedside. He will be missed by his son Jody, many nieces and nephews and sisters and brothers in law. Lionel was predeceased by his sister Doris De Souza (2002) , his loving mother Yvette Batt (1997) and his much loved Gran-Ma-Mere.
Lionel enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer.
Many thanks to the staff and doctors at Tufford Manor for their attention to Lionel’s care and comfort these past six years. A heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff and the Palliative care team on 4A at the hospital for their compassion and care.
In keeping with Lionel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date with burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery with his beloved sister Doris. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Lincoln County Humane Society would be appreciated.
