From the open skies of the prairies to the bustling heart of Ontario, Mabel’s life was a tapestry woven with devotion and joy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Sr. and her son Mark. Her memory continues through her son John Jr; grandchildren Neil (wife Deanna), Alison and Jane; and great-grandchildren Tyler (Neil), Aurora & Trinity (Alison), and Angel, Nicholas, & Emma (Jane).
Mabel embraced life with a gentle strength and quiet exuberance. Her mind stayed keen through puzzles and word searches, while her hands were kept busy knitting hats for the hospital. Whether shuffling dominoes or calling out “Bingo” with a smile, she brought lightness to every gathering. She was the original gamer always having a new card or dice game to show us.
She delighted in simple joys: knitting hats and scarfs, sharing laughter over games or savouring a lucky spin at the casino. These moments – small in scale but grand in heart – defined Mabel’s enduring spirit.
A visitation will be held on October 11,2025 from 2-4pm at Hulse & English Funeral Home – 75 Church St., St. Catharines. A Celebration of Life will follow that evening from 4:30-7:30pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall – 235 Church St. St. Catharines.
May Mabel’s legacy of love and laughter continue to echo warmly in the hearts of those who knew her.
