Marion Alice Suggett

SUGGETT, Marion Alice - Died suddenly on Friday, September 30th, 2011 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of 55 years to Alan Suggett. Loving mother of Robert, Colin and Jeff and their spouses Kathy, Dorothy and Brenda and her grandchildren Stephanie, Jason, Iris, Lily, Carson and Emily. Dear sister of Elaine Aikman and her spouse John Aikman. Marion will be missed by her family, her many friends in St. Catharines and Hamilton and her relatives in England and Scotland. Marion was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1932, daughter of John and Irene Wilson. After receiving her teacher's certificate, she moved to St. Catharines to teach primary students in 1952. Marion met Alan in St. Catharines in 1954 through a mutual set of friends. They were married on July 7th, 1956 in Hamilton, Ontario and began a life together in St. Catharines, Ontario. After she and Alan started a family of three sons, she worked as a claims counsellor at Workmen's Compensation Board. After her retirement, Marion and Alan spend many years travelling throughout North America in their camper van. They also took many trips abroad to Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Marion had a very active social life. Her interests included volunteering with the Garden City Production Theatre Company, Meals on Wheels, the Probus Club, First Grantham United Church and Brock University Centre for the Arts.

Marion's family will receive friends and family at the HULSE AND ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346), St. Catharines, Ontario on Tuesday, October 4th between 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at First Grantham United Church at 415 Linwell Road on Wednesday, October 5th at 11:00 am.
