Happy Birthday Mary. Even though you are not here you are always in my thoughts. I hope you are having tea and really good biscuits and watching Corrie.

I just tried to send Mary a birthday letter, and, when it bounced back to me, I looked for her... only to find this obituary. I am so very sorry... we were friends for over 20 years, though we hadn't seen each other in a very long time. I will miss knowing that she is out there in the universe. Please accept my deepest condolences. I know she loved her brother and sister, and she loved dearly being an aunt to the children.

I knew Mary from our days at the St Catharines Collegiate, and also in Toronto. Only recently did I learn about her sudden passing. We worked together on the high school yearbook, the Vox Collegiensis. To her brother John and sister Judy, please accept my condolences on your loss. She was indeed a wonderful, caring person.

Sadly just found confirmation of Mary's passing. Never met Mary but communicated through Twitter. We had a love of the show EastEnders and a love story called Chryed. We had the same sense of humour, and I was from Australia and she shared her loved of tim tams which I sent...
She was very kind to me when I lost my parents last year and sent a lovely card. Will miss our chats across the ocean. R.I.P. Mary xxx

Mary and I met at residence at U of T. Her room was always packed with friends. It was like Grand Central Station! People were delighted with her wit and sense of humour. We later both worked at Robarts but at different times, with me leaving for other work before she started
there, so we lost touch. I only just learned of her passing and I am very sad.

Deepest condolences to Mary's family.

I just learned belatedly of Mary's death. It has saddened me very much. I extend my deepest sympathies to Mary's family and friends. I knew Mary way back in the late sixties/seventies when we were in residence together at University College. As others have noted, she was warm, generous, bright and very funny. We had many good times together with our shared residence buddies. I will always have the fondest memories of her.

Mary was the kindest person and the finest of workmates, an intrepid, exemplary union member and officer, a woman with an extraordinarily warm sense of humor, and a patient and helpful friend.

Mary and I shared the same birthday and always sent each other birthday cards since the day I retired in 2002. That made us both happy. I always respected Mary , liked her opinions about many subjects. Liked her taste in music, liked her laugh, and was happy to know her..It will be a sad birthday for me without Mary"s good wishes next year. Mirta Tratner, Toronto
