Mary Tarasiuk

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at home in her 92nd year. Predeceased by loving husband of 69 years Eugene. Predeceased by devoteddaughter Helena (Alex) Lawryniuk. Loving mother to Natalie (William) Korsh, Nina (Oleh) Onufryk, Lydia Lily Tarasiuk, Mary (Ivan) Bobko. Beloved Grandmother of Nina (Roger),Greg (Christie), Peter, Andrew, Stephen (Janelle), Andriana (Jamie), Eugene (Nicole),Kalyna and Eugenia (Josh). Cherished Great-grandmother to Sofia, Alex, Abigail and Olivia. Family in Ukraine remember Mary’s visit and are also mourning the loss.

Born in Sniatyn, Ukraine Jan 4, 1925 in very troubling times. Through many difficult life events she met, fell in love and married her husband of 69 yrs. They emigrated to Canada with 3 small daughters in 1952 where they were blessed with 2 moredaughters. They became active members and parishioners of St George Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sudbury. The family moved to St. Catharines in 1964 where they continued to be active members in the in the Ukrainian Community both spiritually and culturally, becoming active members of St Georges Ukrainian Orthodox church of St

Catharines. Mary will be remembered for her work with all her friends in the church kitchen (Sally, Olga and Orisia) and her devotion and commitment with her husband Eugene in the church choir as well as her unconditional love that she constantly gave to her family and friends. Thank-you to CCAC who enabled the family to bring Mary home from the hospital. Thank-you to Iris for facilitating all the details that went into bringing her home and the

support she gave to the family while Mary was in ER. Thank you to CCAC Case Manager Cindy and Palliative nurse practitioner Heather for supporting and guiding the family after Mary’s passing. Family and friends can visit at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street 905-684-6346on Friday Jan 20 from 2-3 and 7-9pm. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday evening at 7pm.The funeral will be held on Saturday Jan 21st at 10 am at St Georges Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 65 Facer St. Burial to take place at St. Volodymr Cemetery in Oakville.
