Peter Allan Michael Bauerle

Suddenly on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in his 43rd year, after a courageous fight with pneumonia and complications at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Loving son of Ursula Bauerle, devoted brother of Paul (Lisa) of Niagara-on-the-Lake and sister Christine of St. Catharines, stepsister Wanda in Holland and adopted sister Leigh Ann. Predeceased by his father Oscar Bauerle in 1995. Peter is survived by Onkel Hans and Tante Heide and many cousins.

Peter was a very special son, happy to be around people. His smile alone could light up any room. Peter attended various special schools and programs through the Grimsby Association for Community Living and later day programs through St. Catharines Association for Community Living. Last year he attended a day program at Red Roof Retreat. He could hardly wait to get on the bus to get there. At home his care was supplemented by special “caregivers” who became much more than that. They became a part of the family. The family would like to thank all those special people and associations and CCAC who made life more comfortable for Peter, also the nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital during his last long stay there. Peter has had a huge impact in our lives and those who have known him. We will miss him terribly, but are comforted by the thought that he is in his new Heavenly Home, surrounded by his friends who have gone there before him.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Monday, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from Grace Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Red Roof Retreat, 1594 Concession #2, Niagara-on-the-Lake LOS 1JO.
