After a fierce, hard fought battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to say that our dear Ron has passed away at St. Joe’s Hospital on November 4, 2021. Ron leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Sharon, daughters Lillian (Ken), Faith and Sarah. Also his mother Willy (Sibolt, d. 2013), and siblings Cora (Ed), Edward (Jody), Shirley (Steve), Patrick (Sonya), Brad (Angela), Rachel (Ron); as well as in-law siblings, Joan and Rob. He also has lots of nieces and nephews that will miss him. Predeceased by his other parents Ted and Dorothy Dundas.
Ron had a large and open heart for anyone and everyone, as well as an amazing outlook on life. He will be terribly missed by his wide circle of friends and his “chosen” family, particularly James and Chris.
Ron graduated from Beacon Christian School and worked at many places, leaving a huge imprint wherever he went. His love of ALL sports is well known, but there was none more important than his beloved KANSAS CITY CHIEFS. He had such fond memories of his trip to Arrowhead Stadium to see a game.
Ron had some big battles in his life recently and his attitude in conquering them was nothing short of astonishing. He was an inspiration to many on how hardships could be handled and dealt with.
In recent years, he found such joy in his motorcycle, riding both by himself and with friends, especially James and Kim. During his cancer battle, it gave him such comfort to get “wind therapy.” His LOVE of his girls and his “adopted daughters” was a joy to see and experience, there was no one with a bigger heart and the most generous and giving spirit that my Ron had. Life will be a bit duller now but his spirit will always live on in his girls, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Charles Daley Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society or March of Dimes would be appreciated.
