

Born July 11, 1948 in Bracebridge Ontario to parents Lloyd and Jessie Keast. Ron is survived by his wife Val (Sokolow) Keast two sons Ryan (Candace) and David, and three grandchildren Jacob, Lucas and Caleb, and also brother in law Alex Sokolow (Carol) in New Brunswick.
After high-school Ron spent two years in the Canadian Armed Forces. While there, he had a strong interest in automotive repair and went on to become a licensed auto mechanic working in a few dealerships in the area then onto a full time career in the test lab at General Motors in St. Catharines for 30 years.
In his early years Ron enjoyed scuba diving, running marathons and working on his car, an MGB at the time. Later running became cycling, volunteering with soap box racing and photography, music, car shows and his beloved 91 Chevrolet Camaro and never missed a NASCAR race. Ron enjoyed taking his camera everywhere he went. If he was there, he would take many pictures of the event.
Friends will be received on Friday January 2, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines. A funeral service will take place in the chapel at 11:00am followed by an interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston Street, St.Catharines.
