She is predeceased by her mother Alice Flowers, father Gordon Bright, sister Ethel Frank and brother Gord Bright. Shirley will be greatly missed by her son Ernest Alligood (wife Annabelle), Sister, best friend and confidant Marilyn Bright and Brother Ernie Bright. She leaves behind Grandaughters Emily (husband Zachary), Erica and Sarah and Great Grand Daughter Brielle. Also survived by niece Kelly Bright (great nephews Jaden and Maxwell and great niece Gabrielle) and nephew Ernest Bright.
Shirley was widely known with family, friends and acquaintances for her poetry, card making skills and her sharp wit.
A memorial service for Shirley will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church St, St. Catharines. All guests wishing to attend must call the funeral home to reserve a space, 905-684-6346, as we are still required to follow Covid-19 restrictions. All guests will be required to sign in upon arrival, wear a mask and maintain social distancing protocol.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Hospice Niagara for their compassion and care, providing Shirley dignity and peace in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to Hospice Niagara or Canadian Cancer Society.
